There are many rewarding volunteer opportunities available at the West Sangamon Public Library. The primary volunteer opportunity lies within the Friends of the West Sangamon Public Library organization. This organization, founded in 1999, supports the library with fund-raising activities and basic volunteering. The annual book and bake sale is one of the major fundraising events the Friends sponsor for the library. 

The Friends of the West Sangamon Public Library Officers are:  Chairperson: Trina Clair  Treasurer: Toni Frank 

The library always welcomes volunteers to help with basic tasks such as processing materials, reshelving books, and helping with library activities such as Story Time and Summer Reading programs

There is a legacy of vital community volunteer support at the our library that has sustained many of our programs for years, especially Story Time  and Summer Reading crafts. The library hopes to continue to receive this vital support from the community.
